lululemon Warehouse Sale in Ottawa Announced

Ottawa Torontonians aren’t the only ones that will be gloating in underpriced luon this winter. In fact they won’t be gloating at all. They’ll be aboard a ViaRail train bound for Ottawa! Word on the street is that lululemon’s infamous warehouse sales are hitting only Ottawa and Calgary this year.

It was just announced today that the Ottawa sale will go down in Aberdeen Pavilion (at Lansdown Park). The event will feature yoga, dance, and other fun stuff - such as cheap clothes! Gift cards aren’t accepted at the event, but they take debit, credit and good ol’ fashioned cash.

As common sense would suggest, the lines are likely to be long - so getting there early is key! Change rooms will more than likely be few and far between, so why wait? Go in wearing a head-to-toe body suit and the world is your change room. Simply slide off your parka and you can change out in the open!

I have been waiting for months for this sale!!!!!! I am so happy its in Ottawa this year!! I hope the lines are shorter this year. The lines were even long on boxing day. I also hope they have really great sales. Last year I got some good bargains in Toronto but that was because I got there before everything sold out. So go early!!!!!!

i have been wait FOREVER for them to announce this sale and now it’s not even in my city?!? what is that?
not fair, not fair, not fair!

  3. 3 Laura

Just wondering if anyone has been and the deals are worth it since my friend and I are considering a road trip to Ottawa for the sale.

  4. 4 Maki

My friend works at the lulu on Queen West and told me that this year the sales are supposed to be OFF THE HOOK! I know there have been some good deals in the store already, but I totally think this is THE year for a killer warehouse sale. With all the recent news about lululemon and seaweed and stuff, they totally need to keep their customers happy. We are roadtrippin’ it!

I just wish we knew before I make the trip - since in other years it was not even worth the wait, let alone a drive. But I have heard that this year the sale prices are going to be shockingly low. Us poor Torontonians!! The lulu website said that “new stock was coming in each day” .. so maybe if we aren’t there at the crack of dawn there will be deals left.

My sisters friend works for the company in merchandising (Calgary) and told her that the sale is going to be wicked. So I’m sure going! What’s a few hours in the cold .. you can warm up in a new cheap scuba.

This is a big waste of time.

Toronto LuluLemon warehouse sales in the winter have people lined up outside for hours, for 25 to 30% off pants. Nothing else is discounted, maybe some hoodies - but no big discounts.

Doing this in Ottawa would be nuts, if you have to line up outside, especially with Ottawa’s weather.

What? there are line ups?! Do they have small sizes or is it one of those sales that only has all the big left over sizes?

  9. 9 Alyssa has no lulu

Does anyone know what kind of prices to expect? I might try to sneak away and get something, but is it really worth it? You’d have to spend at least $300 to make the trip worth it

Where is the lu lu lemon Sale Located in ottawa?
If someone could tell me , that would be great : )

  11. 11 Brian

I am so stoked, I can’t wait to wear my bodysuit!!!

  12. 12 Erin

I just heard that the line up is about 2-3 hours long already… wrapped around the building and you have to check your coat and purse.

I think it’s great the HUGE lulu sale is in Ottawa this year, i can’t wait, oh and btw the weather is not even bad!

  14. 14 Sarah

Well I went to the first day (got in at open 945am) and the sales were VERy good. Got two pairs of pants for $29/each (reg. $96) and great zipups for 50% off at least and shorts and other tanks for about $9!

  15. 15 Amanda

Just a warning that if you have young children, you should not go to the sale with them…. The line-up is so long…. over 4 hours. 3 hours outside and then another hour inside. You have to check your coat and purse and any other parcels. You can only take in your wallet. Yes, the deals are great, but be ready to stand out in the cold and get a babysitter!

  16. 16 quinn

    Thanks Amanda! Great tip. :)

So I waited in line for about 2.5 hours (it was crazy cold) but at least they sent someone outside to entertain the crowd. They gave away some small items. Pack some snacks to eat in line!! I wouldn’t recommend going if you have high expectations of what you want. They don’t have a very good selection of pants (at least not in size 6-8 range), however, if your size is a bit bigger I think there is a fabulous selection of items. I spent about $260 and got capri work-out pants, two pairs of shorts (one for working out and one pair of casual), a work-out top, a casual top, a skirt, a zip up and a guy’s zip up. The deals were pretty good. It was definitely worth the wait. If you don’t want to wait to use the change room (an open room) I suggest putting some spans on under your clothes and just changing wherever to try things on. I saw some girls who came prepared and did this. GOOD LUCK!!

  18. 18 Patty

oh and if you plan on going right before it closes (i think 8pm) don’t. last night people were turned away at 7pm because of the line.

  19. 19 Elaine

HEY! I just went yesterday to the sale in Ottawa and despite the wait - it was totally worth it! I thought it was going to be insanely busy in there, but it was actually quite the relaxing shopping experience (given you have patience). The deals are great! I bought heaps of stuff!

Definitely worth it! I totally agree with Amanda - leave your kids at home! there were several moms with babies waiting outside for 2 plus hours in the cold! Not cool!

  20. 20 Doug

Gee ladies, is there any great stuff for guys that I should line up for 4 hours in the blizzard for???

  21. 21 Brenda

I was there yesterday. Waited 3 hours outside and another hour inside. Deals were good but the selection wasn’t as great as I was hoping for. Bought 2 pairs of shorts, pair of outdoor long shorts, pair of capris, 2 tank tops, a jacket and a toque for only $245 with tax. Regular price will be over $450.

Yes, mom shouldn’t be bringing their babies there. It’s just too cold. If you have lots of friends, get them to take shifts so you can go warm up in the vehicles for a while. Yeah, I know it’s not environmentally friendly but it’s better than frost bites!!

    Good luck guys!

    Ottawa Lulu Sale Recap:

    The LineUps
    —————-
I arrived at 4:20, and waited 45 min outside and then another hour and 15 min inside (so 2 hours total). Once you got inside, you could sneak out of line to buy snacks. Everyone had to check their coats and purses - your stuff was put into a giant plastic bag that was zip tied and you were given a number on an elastic to wear around your wrist. You were allowed to keep wallets and cell phones. If you were wearing any lulu you were given a zip tie. Since I was wearing lulu pants, the girl put a zip tie around my calf. They were only letting a limited number of people on the main floor at a time so the aisles weren’t too packed. The lineups to the change room were about 20 minutes long.

    The Layout
    —————-
The clothes were all divided into racks by sizes. There were two large curtained off rooms for changing: one for men, one for women (with the women’s room being considerably larger). There were bins of hats, scarves, mitts, and other accessories.

  25. 25 quinn

Great update Al. Wow - the zip tie idea is a good one to prevent theft. Sounds like QUITE the event.

I wonder if anybody braved the Friday snowstorm and got some discount lulu for it. Did the sale even got off the ground that day?
