I religiously work out every day, and I rarely hit the gym in a crop other than the Boogie Crop (previously known as the Crop Slit Boogie). They have a high waistband that stays put during yoga, and also has added structure in the fabric to help hold your stomach in nice and tight. There is a drawstring on the inside of the waistband, though the pants have enough stretch to stay in place no matter what. The waistband also fits at a height that will hide even the most substantial muffin top.
These are a longer fitting crop, and hit most women at about mid calf. The back of the pant leg has a slit in the back, and there is a slight flare. This helps keep you cool, and allows for extra movement.
Built into the crotch is a nice wide gusset. Since these crops fit with quite a high rise, this gusset helps to eliminate the dreaded camel toe.
Boogie Crops tend to run a bit on the small size, and on the newest version the waistband seems to have been relaxed slightly. They are wicking, quick dry, and made out of luon - so you can work up a sweat and throw them right into the washer and dryer.
These definitely don’t flatter all figures, but they add curves while holding all the important bits nice and tight. They certainly aren’t the crops for bloated days! However, for high impact activities and stomach focused exercises like pilates, I find that they actually help my performance. Word of the wise, do NOT get these too tight. You’ll be squeezed out the top and the bottom.

Please! Don’t buy these pants too small. I see so many women try and squeeze into them four sizes too small and it’s not good. The back of the slit stretches out and looks awful. They are meant to be fitted just not to sufficate.
First - as a lover of lululemon, I must say, your wesbite is awesome!
I was actually just thinking of picking up a pair of these. Do they fit that different than the groove pants?
Also, would love to hear your thoughts on the new (or are they a returning style) hip pant. I am one of those people sort of mourning the old style boot cut of the groove pants, and haven’t quite fallen in love with the new straight leg style. The hip pants have the wider leg, but they seem to fit lower, and I’m not sure if I like that for running, working out etc.
Again - great site.
Cheers!
Hi Karla! Thanks for your great post!
The new boogie crops do fit a bit differently than the groove pants. The waistband is thicker and a little more stiff, so you have to make sure that you don’t buy them too small. TRUST ME!
They do tend to run about the same size as groove pants, but fit slightly snugger towards the knee. I find they are tight pretty much right to mid calf (or wherever the slit starts). Also, the boogie crops have a higher waist than the groove pants. They sit pretty much right below the belly button.
As for the hip pants, they are all time favorite of mine too. Thanks for reminding me! I will do up a post pronto! And I agree - for running / the gym - the super flare is NOT for me. Can you imagine hopping on a bike in those things? That’s a recipe for disaster.

why did they cease selling the hip pant; is the stella (by lululemon designed) pant sold at nordstrom’s taking its place? hip pants are awesome; a shame no longer carried.
