Living in a rainy climate makes you aware very quickly that there are far too few functional and fetching raincoats on the market. lululemon’s Apres Yoga jacket is a West Coast girl’s best weapon against the rain, and this season lululemon has released a few new options to beat those impending Spring showers. The best of the bunch is the new Essence Jacket.
The Essence Jacket is extremely light weight. There really isn’t much bulk to this jacket, not even a liner, and it’s meant to be paired with a cozy hoodie or sweater underneath on colder days. It definitely won’t keep you warm - but it will keep you very, very dry. Thankfully it sports a removable hood and a nice high collar to keep the rain out. Be warned, in certain color combinations this collar ends up looking more like a neck brace, so purchase carefully.
The jacket is snug fitting at the chest, and flares out slightly - creating a fun and flatting shape. The waist can be cinched by a belt, the sleeves are cut long and there is a built in iPod cord wrangler.
The Essence Jacket picks up where the Apres Yoga Jacket left off. While I still can’t imagine retiring my Apres for good - the Essence jacket is certainly a flirty and figure flattering new addition to my wardrobe.
